The “Eagle Spirit” logo design, featured on all official 2009 WPFG merchandise, was created by Garner Moody, an accomplished First Nations Haida artist.

The logo was designed from a ceremonial drum produced by Garner for the Leona Lattimer Gallery in 1989. The Eagle is generally seen as a symbol of power of knowledge, prestige, friendship and peace.

The Eagle is one of the two main Haida crests, the other being the Raven.
